With its white petals open to the Singaporean sky, the ArtScience Museum seems to float above the water. Its lotus shape and resolutely modern, pure design were the inspiration for Mido’s Rainflower collection created in 2019. Reflecting the delicate beauty of the monument, interlaced petals ornament the dial and sides of the case. The oscillating weight appears, engraved with a “Rainflower” decor of intersecting lines, like the pillars at the heart of the ArtScience Museum. Delicate lines, gentle curves and an evocation of the splendor of the plant world are features that the Rainflower collection shares with this sublime building.
